Brainspotting Therapy
"Where you look affects how you feel”
What is Brainspotting Therapy?
Brainspotting is a form of therapy that uses spots in a person's visual field to help them process trauma. Brainspotting can also help with performance anxiety, triggers, phobias, creative blocks, mental “stuckness” and preparing for significant life events.
Getting “Unstuck”
Feelings associated with trauma can become “stuck” in the brain and in the body. Brainspotting can help to release those feelings that have been maladaptively stored. Focusing on a brainspot can activate a traumatic memory or a painful emotion. Brainspotting allows you to process these on a deeper level. Many people report feeling “lighter” after a brainspotting session. Many leave with more clarity and self compassion.
EMDR, IFS and Brainspotting are all powerful therapies on their own, but when combined in treatment by a competent and skilled therapist, the impact can be life changing. All 3 modalities are evidenced based therapies, meaning that they have been heavily researched and proven to be effective to address issues such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Chronic Illness and many more.
